Avery is one beautiful girl that just adores people. She’s happiest when around her humans and will gladly just chill near you whilst you work, watch tv etc. Even better if she gets to join you on the couch for cuddles.

She really loves to get out and about, smelling the world and exploring what’s out there. Avery is a very social girl who will happily meet dogs & people out on walks and say hello, so daily walks & outings are a must for her. In saying that, Avery isn’t an energetic dog, so a shorter outing will suffice.

Avery hasn’t been cat or pocket pet tested at this time, although, based on her personality and demeanor, we feel she’s likely ok to live with these other animals if correct and positive introductions are made. She can easily live with another dog, she’s very dog social.

Avery doesn’t like being left alone and does suffer from separation anxiety. She bonds quite quickly with her primary care giver and frets when they leave her. She will bark if alone and feeling very anxious, so apartments or townhouses in built up areas will not be the best environment for her.

Her anxiety may improve over time and once she feels settled & safe. Another dog at home that she can bond with may also help her feel safer, either way, her family must be mostly at home at this stage. Any transition to a new home will take time and patience and you must be prepared for some anxious behaviour at the start & be able able to plan / train for it.

Avery will require regular grooming to keep her coat looking top notch. She’s very easy to handle, so grooming will be a breeze. She currently on a bit of a weight loss journey and she’s got a few extra unwanted kilos, so any new family will need to be on board with continuing that to keep her healthy.

Her ideal family will provide Avery with a safe and loving environment, be patient and aware of her anxiety and be able to show us how you will handle this and what plan you have to make her transition into your home as easy as possible for her. Whilst she’s great with kids, on advice from the trainer, we’re looking for a quieter home for her without young children,to help her settle easily and improve any anxiety. Visiting grandchildren are always welcome though!

All in all, Avery is an absolute sweetheart, a happy little girl who love her walks and people, and of course, cuddles!
