Meet Pringle – a very sweet and gentle boy who is the best little lap warmer and cuddler anyone could ask for. This little mite found himself in a rural pound at risk of euthanasia and since coming to us at fetching dogs has showed every day his gratitude for his second chance at life.

Pringle will look for any opportunity to jump onto your lap or snuggle next to you for a cuddle. He is very affectionate with his foster carers and will give his large breed foster sibling lots of licks to greet her in the morning. Pringle loves his belly scratches. If you stop too soon, he’ll gently put a paw on your hand to indicate to keep scratching.

Pringle has thrived while in foster care and settled really well into a routine. He wakes up at 6am ready to kick start his day with a walk around the neighbourhood which he is always excited for. Pringle loves meeting other dogs and is quite confident around dogs of all ages and sizes. His little tail wags overtime when any dog shows interest in saying hello or initiates play.

After breakfast, Pringle can be found either snoozing on his outdoor bed, sniffing around the garden or under his foster parent’s chair while they work, quietly chewing on his favourite soft toys. He also enjoys a game of fetch or sniffing out treats in the backyard. He’ll often check in with his foster parents to ask for a pat and scratch behind the ear and says thank you with gentle licks in return.

While in foster care, Pringle has been left at home 2 days per week with his foster sibling and has been quite happy to nap in his bed as long as he has his favourite toys to play with and a Kong full of treats. In the evening, Pringle will snuggle up to his foster parents on the sofa for cuddles before bedtime. He’ll usually take himself to his bed in the lounge room when he’s ready and sleeps through the night without a peep.

Pringle is toilet trained, but isn’t so keen on toileting outside when it’s raining and does sometimes need a little coaxing to toilet before going to bed for the night. He is very food motivated especially when it’s cheese! He has learnt to sit, understands ‘walk’, ‘no’, ‘leave it,’ ‘come,’ ‘outside’ and will also wait to be allowed on the sofa. His recall is improving every day, however, when he’s excited around other dogs his recall will need a little more work. Pringle loves going on car rides and travels well in the car. As soon as the car door opens, Pringle will jump up on the backseat and lay down on his blanket ready to be buckled in for his next park adventure.

Pringle can be a little shy when meeting new people. He likes to take his time, but once he’s comfortable he quickly warms up and isn’t shy about asking for pats. We feel he would do best and we will be looking for a home with one or two adults and another confident and friendly dog of any size for support and company. His foster carers are very dog experienced and understand properly settling and introducing foster dogs to the hustle and bustle of Sydney, so due to Pringle coming from the country and having a big life change we will only be looking for dog experienced people to ensure his fantastic adaption to his new life continues and he doesn’t have any set backs.

Pringle is a dog that loves the company of his humans and dogs and would make a great companion. He is a quiet dog and would suit a calm home environment where his new owners would be home more often than not. He will need to be allowed inside as part of the family, especially at night time. He should be provided with a good amount of daily exercise and a good quality diet.

We’re looking for a loving home where he’ll get lots of love, playtimes and will be included in daily activities and adventures. If you’re interested in making the gorgeous Pringle a permanent member of your family, please fill out the adoption enquiry form found on our fetching dog’s website as the next step. Please ensure to include plenty of extra details about your current lifestyle, resident dog and dog experience as due to being volunteers we will only have capacity to call a few applications for a phone interview.
